Our Friend and Father

Our friend and father,
one man and one word,
with love in his heart,
he walked through life
through thorns and pain.

With hope on his lips
he stepped up ahead.
May come what may,
he stood his man.

The family and work:
I will, I can, I must!
These were his words
without any dismay.

He lives in us all
in his words and ways:
our father and friend,
As we weep quietly
in sorrow.
